Sharper keyword-stuffing checks
The tag checker now mirrors Envato's word-root limits exactly — including the three-repeated-roots case.
The tag checker now follows Envato's keyword-stuffing policy to the letter — including a subtle case that used to slip through.
The word-root rules
Envato counts word roots, not literal tags. Two limits apply:
- A root may appear in at most 2 tags. "Inspire" and "inspiring" share a root — a third variation is stuffing.
- At most 2 roots may repeat across a single track. Three repeated roots — say inspire, motivate and success — get an item flagged even when each root is used only twice.
That second rule is the one most authors don't know about, and the checker now catches it.
Simpler settings
The "allowed repeats" setting is gone — these limits are Envato policy, not taste, so they're fixed. You still choose which experience-based rules to enforce on top; that part stays yours.
If your catalog was green before this update, it's worth re-running Check Tags — the sharper rules may surface a few tracks that were quietly at risk.
