Hello — this is epicukulele

This is the first thing live on epicukulele, and the first post here, so let me say plainly what this is and why it exists.

Where it started

epicukulele began as one afternoon's frustration turned into a tool. Preparing a track for AudioJungle and Motion Array at the same time means juggling sample rates, bit depths, preview watermarks, ZIP structures and naming conventions that are almost — but not quite — the same across platforms. None of it is hard. All of it is the kind of repetitive, detail-sensitive busywork that eats an evening and produces zero music.

So the first thing we shipped is the Preparator: drop your files in, pick your platforms, get back exactly what each one expects — the right formats, the correct preview, tidy bundles named the way each marketplace wants. It's free and needs no login, because it solves a problem everyone doing this work has.

The actual goal

Here's the honest version of the plan, not the pitch-deck version: epicukulele should become the one place a stock-music or production-music author needs, for everything that isn't making music.

Making tracks is the part you're good at and the part you got into this for. Everything around it — preparing deliverables correctly, keeping tags compliant so a marketplace doesn't quietly disable your item, uploading to every platform, tracking what's earning and what isn't, watching for content-ID and royalty issues, managing metadata across a catalog that's grown past what you can hold in your head — is overhead. None of it should require you to be an expert in five different marketplaces' fine print. It should just be handled, correctly, by something that already knows the rules.

That's the whole plan: take the routine off your plate, make the process simple, and make the result better than doing it by hand — not "good enough for a free tool," genuinely better, because software can check things a tired person at 1 a.m. will miss.

What's live today

Just the Preparator, and that's on purpose. We'd rather ship one narrow thing that actually works than a broad thing that's vague. Today it handles the AudioJungle + Motion Array prep flow end to end; that's the piece that was eating the most evenings, so that's where we started.

Where it's headed

The Preparator is the front door, not the house. The plan from here: a manager for your whole catalog instead of clicking through items one by one. Tag compliance checked against what marketplaces actually enforce, so you find out before a reviewer does. Then fixing those issues in bulk instead of by hand — and, further out, uploads, royalty visibility, and the parts of a music career that live outside any single marketplace.

None of that is live yet, and we won't write posts about it until it is — you'll read about each piece here the same way you read about everything else: after it ships, with the rough edges named honestly. That's the plan for this blog too, past this first post: updates as they land, plus articles on production, on the tools of the trade, and on the platforms this whole industry runs on.
